Fancy a vintage summer wedding?

The trend for summer 2016 weddings looks set to be vintage.

Experts say shades of pink and white combined with masses of old-fashioned garden roses and peonies with an emphasis on a truly feminine, nostalgic and romantic theme will feature heavily.

Garden party style ceremonies and receptions look set to be big. To create a wonderful, vintage vibe, add shabby chic linen and wafer-thin, antique china to set the scene for a memorable, sunlit afternoon.

Then light the candles to take you well into the evening.

We suggest using peony heads in different shades of pink, arranged on an enamel cake stand with cupcakes and placed on each side plate to decorate your guests' tables.

Glasses can be filled with prosecco and a rose petal syrup.

Add a centre-piece vase with old fashioned, blousy David Austin rose petals. They look great if you put a small vase inside a larger one and fill the gap between them with petals, then add water to the inside vase and fill with fresh blooms, and we also suggest putting them in storm lanterns too.

Use decorated sugar cubes and Belgian chocolates to adorn your teacup saucers if you're going for an afternoon tea theme.

To add to that feeling of the great outdoors, clip on butterflies can be attached to storm lanterns and crystal flower jewels to the name place cards, and scattered on the tables.

Additional finishing touches to the wedding breakfast table include heart-design tealights and sweetheart confetti boxes filled with rose petals.

Select freeze-dried petal confetti that features roses with an antique look. These roses are subtle in appearance with a two-tone colouring.

The petals are soft to touch, have an old rose charm and reflect exactly how they are when they are fresh, but because they are freeze-dried they have the added benefits of longevity, biodegradability and naturalness. They also do not wilt and are non-staining.

Flower girls look great with baskets of petals too.

We have a lovely marquee that seats up to 78 guests and 140 for a buffet, lit with chandeliers and with its own private garden.

We also have our garden room that can seat 36 guests for dinners and buffets. If you'd like to see our wedding brochure, please do get in touch. Contact Us
