Pounds from puds to dish up just desserts for charities

Dine with us throughout this month (January, 2017) and help raise funds for charity by buying a dessert.

We're donating a 1 from every pudding purchased on selected weekday lunchtimes throughout January to Dogs 4 Adoption and The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT).

We thought it would be a wonderful way to kick off our 2017 fundraising efforts for our two charities of the year, Dogs 4 Adoption in Taunton and NAWT in Langport.

Anyone who comes for lunch with us in January from Tuesday to Thursday only and purchases a dessert will be helping collect cash for our chosen charities as we'll donate 1 from every pudding sold.

Dogs 4 Adoption is a registered charity based at St Giles Kennels in Wrantage, which is owned by the Linnell family. The organisation is responsible for taking and caring for all the stray dogs from the Taunton Deane and South Somerset areas.

The dogs are brought to them by the dog warden and if they are not reclaimed by their owners within the legal statutory time, Dogs 4 Adoption re-home them.

NAWT is one of the UK's top animal welfare charities operating five rehoming centres across the South of England.

The National Animal Welfare Trust was founded in 1971 as an independent charity. NAWT acquired Heaven's Gate Farm near Langport in the early 1990s. NAWT rehomed nearly 1,200 animals last year, mainly cats and dogs, but also rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and field animals.

We hope to raise several hundreds of pounds from this initiative and we will add it to the money we collected throughout 2016 for both these charities and donate it all in February.

We're open for lunches from Tuesday to Sunday each week and closed on Monday lunch times. The fundraising initiative is only available lunchtimes from Tuesday to Thursday in January, 2017.
